Where to Buy a Flexabed Adjustable Bed Near Me

Where to Buy a Flexabed Adjustable Bed Near Me

When you search online for “adjustable bed near me,” chances are you’ll see the usual big-box names: Mattress Firm, Costco, Home Depot, Ashley Furniture, Sleep Number, and more. But here’s the truth: while those stores may keep a few models in stock, what you’ll find is very different from a Flexabed adjustable bed.

If you’re looking for a bed built to your exact preferences, with the comfort and reliability to last for years, Flexabed offers a smarter way to shop.

Why “Near Me” Searches for Adjustable Beds Can Be Misleading

When people type “adjustable bed near me” into Google, they’re usually hoping to find something convenient, local, and ready to take home today. But here’s the catch:

  • Big-box retailers typically stock generic, one-size-fits-all models.
  • Quality and durability often don’t compare to a custom-built adjustable bed.
  • Many store options lack important features like vertical adjustability, customizable mattresses, and advanced controls.

With Flexabed, your experience looks different. Instead of picking from limited floor stock, you get a bed built just for you and shipped in just three business days.

What Makes Flexabed Different From Retail Adjustable Beds

Flexabed isn’t another retail adjustable base. We’ve been hand-building adjustable beds in LaFayette, Georgia, for over 50 years, and every bed we ship is crafted with care. Here’s why customers choose us over “near me” big box store models:

Flexabed vs. Hospital Beds and Generic Adjustable Beds

Another common question is whether a Flexabed is the same as a hospital bed. The answer: not at all.

  • Hospital beds are built for medical settings. They’re functional, but not designed for home comfort or style.
  • Generic adjustable beds from chain stores may recline, but they don’t offer true customization or long-term durability.
  • Flexabed bridges the gap by delivering medical-level adjustability (if you need it) with the comfort, style, and warranty you want for everyday living.

Adjustable Bed vs Hospital Bed: What’s the Difference?

If you’ve ever shopped for a bed that offers more support than a standard flat frame, you’ve probably run into two options: adjustable beds vs hospital beds. At first glance, they might seem similar. They both move into different positions, and both can help you stay more comfortable. But when it comes to how they’re designed, how they look in your home, and how you’ll use them day to day, they’re actually quite different.

What Is an Adjustable Bed?

An adjustable bed is built for comfort as much as it is for support. With a simple remote, you can raise or lower the head and foot of the mattress until you find the position that feels right. Whether you’re reading, watching TV, elevating your legs for circulation, or just settling in for a good night’s sleep, an adjustable bed adapts to you.

The beauty of a Flexabed adjustable bed is how personal it can be. You choose the mattress type, bed size, and features that fit your lifestyle. Want a split king so you and your partner can each adjust your own side? Prefer the extra ease of voice-activated controls or the relaxation of a gentle massage setting? It’s all possible because every Flexabed is built to order.

Curious about the differences between our models? You can compare them all in one place with our adjustable bed model comparison.

What Is a Hospital Bed?

Hospital beds are designed with medical care in mind. They often include features like vertical height adjustment, side rails, and wheels for moving the bed easily. These details make it easier for caregivers to assist with transfers, repositioning, and daily care.

While hospital beds are practical in clinical settings or for advanced home care needs, they’re not made for everyday comfort. They typically have a more utilitarian look and limited mattress choices, so they can stand out in a home bedroom in a way that some people would prefer to avoid.

Adjustable Bed vs Hospital Bed: Quick Comparison

Feature Adjustable Bed Hospital Bed
Purpose Comfort, home use, caregiving Medical care
Appearance Blends into home decor Clinical look
Adjustments Head and foot, some with vertical lift Head, foot and vertical lift
Side Rails Optional Standard
Mobility Stationary On wheels
Best For Sleep, relaxation, aging in place Recovery, advanced care

Why Many People Choose Adjustable Beds for Home Use

For most people who don’t need a full medical setup, an adjustable bed strikes the perfect balance between function and comfort. You get the ability to change positions for health or mobility reasons, but without the sterile, clinical feel of a hospital bed.

This makes adjustable beds ideal for:

  • Sleeping more comfortably while recovering from an illness or injury
  • Supporting independence while aging in place
  • Potentially reducing strain from arthritis, back pain, or circulation issues
  • Sharing a bed with a partner while still meeting individual comfort needs

The Hi-Low SL: A Hospital Bed Alternative

If you like the idea of a hospital bed’s functionality but prefer something designed for everyday living, the Flexabed Hi-Low SL may be exactly what you’re looking for.

It offers vertical height adjustability, which makes getting in and out of bed easier, especially if you use a wheelchair or walker. This feature also allows caregivers to work at a comfortable height, which can reduce strain for them too. You can pair it with optional side rails for added safety or a headboard to match your bedroom furniture. And, just like every Flexabed, you can customize your Hi-Low SL with your choice of mattress type, size, and smart features.

The result is a bed that supports your health needs without sacrificing the warmth and comfort of home. Many of our customers choose the Hi-Low SL when they want to stay in their own home longer, make recovery easier, or simply add more independence to their daily life.

Accessories That Make a Difference

Accessories can take your bed from comfortable to truly customized for your needs. If you’re weighing an adjustable bed vs hospital bed, the right add-ons can make your adjustable bed just as functional while keeping it comfortable and attractive.

Flexabed offers universal bed accessories such as:

  • Side rails for stability and safety
  • Side rail covers for comfort and style
  • Leg extensions to raise your bed for easier access
  • Lower bed heights for safer entry and exit

Find the Bed That’s Right for You

Choosing between an adjustable bed vs hospital bed comes down to how you’ll use it day to day. If you need a strictly medical setup for advanced care, a hospital bed may be the right fit. But if you want comfort, personalization, and a look that blends into your home, a Flexabed adjustable bed could be the perfect choice.

To see all the ways you can personalize your Flexabed, try our Customize Your Bed tool. Then, explore our full lineup — from the luxury Premier to the budget-friendly Value-Flex — and find your match.

The Official Guide to Flexabed’s Adjustable Bed Warranty

When you purchase a Flexabed, you’re investing in more than just a comfortable night’s sleep. You’re investing in long-term support, trusted craftsmanship, and a commitment to your satisfaction. Our products are built to last, and our adjustable bed warranty is built to back that up.

We know warranty language can get complicated, so we’ve laid out everything you need to know about Flexabed’s Limited Lifetime Warranty in one simple guide. Here’s what’s covered, what’s not, and how to take full advantage of your warranty coverage.

Our Limited Lifetime Coverage Explained

What’s Covered Under Flexabed’s Adjustable Bed Warranty?

All Flexabed models—including the Premier, Hi-Low SL, and Value-Flex—are covered under our Limited Lifetime Warranty. That means we’ll stand behind your adjustable bed for as long as you own it, with a few key time-based distinctions.

This coverage applies to:

  • Adjustable base and lift motors
  • Handsets, cords, and internal wiring
  • All mattress types (memory foam, innerspring, latex, and more)
  • Frame and platform support system

Our warranty is also transferable. If the bed is gifted or resold, the remaining warranty coverage moves with it. This adds value for both current and future owners.

Our Year-by-Year Coverage Breakdown

Year 1 – Comprehensive Coverage:

In the first year, if anything goes wrong due to a manufacturing defect, we’ll cover all parts, labor, and shipping. Whether it’s a motor malfunction or a mattress issue, our team will repair or replace the component at no cost to you.

Year 2 and Beyond – Flat-Fee Repair Services:

Starting in year two, Flexabed offers continued warranty support for a flat service fee of $100, plus shipping. This applies to repairs or reconditioning of the adjustable base, mattress, motors, and other components. If a specific part is no longer available, we’ll provide a 33% credit toward the purchase of a new Flexabed mattress or base.

What’s Not Covered?

While we stand behind the durability of our products, there are a few situations that fall outside the scope of our adjustable bed warranty. These include:

  • Misuse or abuse (including damage from spills, pets, or rough handling)
  • Unauthorized repairs or modifications
  • Power surges, electrical damage, or improper installation
  • Normal wear and tear that does not affect performance

To ensure coverage stays intact, we recommend using a surge protector, following the product manual, and contacting our team before performing any repairs.

How do I File a Flexabed Warranty Claim?

If you experience an issue with your Flexabed, reach out to our support team at 1-800-648-1256. In most cases, we’ll ask for photos or a short video so we can diagnose the problem quickly and determine the best next step.

Depending on your warranty coverage and the nature of the issue, we’ll guide you through the repair or replacement process, which may involve sending out parts, scheduling service, or offering a product credit.

We pride ourselves on fast, responsive service that makes it easy to keep your Flexabed performing its best.

Do Adjustable Beds for Acid Reflux and Sleep Apnea Work?

What the Science (and Sleepers) Are Saying

If you’ve ever propped yourself up at night to breathe easier or stop heartburn, you already understand the idea behind adjustable beds. But do adjustable beds for acid reflux and sleep apnea actually work, or are they just a high-end gimmick?

Research, expert guidance, and years of real-world use say yes: elevated sleep positioning can significantly improve symptoms of both conditions. Let’s explore why that matters—and how Flexabed’s made-to-order features are built to help.

How Adjustable Beds Help With Acid Reflux

Acid reflux and GERD (gastroesophageal reflux disease) can disrupt sleep with symptoms like heartburn, coughing, and throat irritation. The main culprit? Gravity. When you lie flat, stomach acid can travel more easily into the esophagus, especially after eating.

That’s why so many providers recommend head-of-bed elevation as a first step in managing reflux symptoms at night. And it’s not just anecdotal. A 2021 systematic review found that elevating the upper body significantly reduced reflux symptoms and esophageal acid exposure in all five studies reviewed.

Unlike foam wedges or stacks of pillows that shift and compress, an adjustable bed like Flexabed allows for a gentle, consistent incline at the touch of a button. That means your ideal angle for relief can be set—and held—all night long.

What About Sleep Apnea?

While acid reflux is about keeping stomach acid down, sleep apnea is about keeping airways open. In obstructive sleep apnea (OSA), soft tissues in the throat relax too much during sleep and cause pauses in breathing. These interruptions can happen dozens of times per hour, and often go unnoticed except for symptoms like daytime fatigue, snoring, or gasping awake.

A 2022 clinical study published in the National Library of Medicine found that even a modest head-of-bed elevation of just 7.5° reduced apnea-hypopnea events by over 30% in patients with mild to moderate OSA.

Adjustable beds like Flexabed make it easy to raise your upper body into a position that reduces airway collapse. The zero gravity position, in particular, has been shown to improve airflow, reduce pressure on the chest, and mitigate snoring and mild apnea symptoms, especially for back sleepers.

Looking for the best adjustable bed for sleep apnea or other conditions? It’s not just about incline—it’s about personalization, consistency, and full-body support.

The Bottom Line

So—do adjustable beds for acid reflux and sleep apnea work? Yes.

They won’t replace medication or therapy, but they can make a real difference in nightly comfort and long-term wellness. Elevation is a simple, proven way to ease pressure on the digestive system and promote better airflow—and Flexabed lets you do it your way.

The Benefits of an Adjustable Bed for Side Sleepers

Most of us have a favorite way to fall asleep—and for a lot of people, that’s on their side. In fact, research shows that side sleeping is the most common sleep position, and often the most comfortable. But it’s not without its challenges. That’s where a custom-fit adjustable bed for side sleepers can make all the difference.

Let’s explore why side sleepers love adjustable beds—and how Flexabed’s customizable features are built to support a better night’s rest.

Why Side Sleepers Struggle with Traditional Beds

Side sleeping is great for snoring and digestion, but it can lead to pressure points and poor spinal alignment if your mattress and base aren’t doing their job.

Without proper support, side sleepers often deal with:

  • Shoulder and hip pressure
  • Numbness or tingling in arms and legs
  • Poor spinal alignment.
  • Restless tossing and turning

An adjustable bed solves many of these problems by letting you fine-tune your position for total-body comfort.

How Adjustable Beds Support Side Sleepers

A Flexabed adjustable base allows side sleepers to elevate their head, legs, or both—creating a sleeping position that relieves pressure and improves circulation. Here’s how:

  • Head Elevation helps reduce snoring and takes pressure off the neck and shoulders
  • Leg Elevation relieves lower back pressure and supports circulation
  • Zero Gravity Positioning cradles your spine and joints to reduce discomfort
  • Customizable Settings allow you to find and save your ideal position

When paired with the right mattress, these features help keep your spine aligned and reduce the common aches that side sleepers often experience.

Custom Comfort, Your Way

Whether you’re a side sleeper, back sleeper, or somewhere in between, every Flexabed is made to order and built around your unique needs. Our Premier, Hi-Low SL, and Value-Flex models all offer supportive options for side sleepers, with custom mattresses and optional upgrades like:

  • Massage
  • Memory settings
  • Voice activation
  • Underbed lighting
  • Bluetooth app control

rick-holding-bar-siderailsA good night’s sleep is one of the most important things you can invest in, and for many people, an adjustable bed is the key to waking up feeling rested and refreshed. Unlike a traditional flat bed, an adjustable bed gives you the ability to customize your sleeping position for better comfort, improved circulation, and relief from common issues like back pain, acid reflux, or snoring.

But not all adjustable beds are created equal. With so many different models and features available, how do you choose an adjustable bed that’s truly right for you? Should you focus on durability, extra comfort features, or mattress compatibility? And which features are actually useful versus just nice to have?

If you’re feeling overwhelmed by the options, don’t worry. In this guide, we’ll break down everything you need to know before buying an adjustable bed. From understanding your sleep needs to comparing features and durability, we’ll help you make an informed decision so you can find the perfect bed for the way you sleep.

How to Choose an Adjustable Bed That’s Perfect for You

Start with Your Sleep Needs

The best place to start when choosing an adjustable bed is by thinking about your specific sleep needs. Are you looking for relief from aches and pains? Do you need to elevate your head to help with snoring or acid reflux? Or maybe you just want a more comfortable setup for reading or watching TV in bed?

If back pain is an issue, you may want a bed that allows you to elevate your legs and adjust your lower back support. If you struggle with snoring or acid reflux, sleeping with your upper body slightly elevated can make a big difference. And if you share a bed with a partner who has different sleep preferences, a split adjustable bed lets each of you control your own side without compromise.

By identifying your main needs upfront, you can narrow down the features that will actually improve your sleep instead of getting caught up in unnecessary extras.

Look for Easy, Quiet Adjustability

One of the biggest benefits of an adjustable bed is being able to switch positions effortlessly—whether you’re settling in for the night, stretching out after a long day, or just getting comfortable for a movie. A well-designed adjustable bed should move smoothly and quietly so that adjustments don’t disrupt your sleep (or your partner’s).

Many models also offer programmable memory settings, so you can save your preferred positions and return to them at the push of a button. Some even include wireless remotes, voice activation or smartphone controls, making it easy to adjust your position without fumbling for buttons in the dark.

For an idea of what adjustable bed customization can look like, explore our adjustable bed customization options.

Make Sure It’s Built to Last

An adjustable bed is an investment, and durability is key. You want a model that’s sturdy, well-constructed, and designed to withstand years of movement without wearing down.

It’s also worth considering the quality of the frame and motor. A solid metal frame and reinforced construction will prevent wear and tear over time. Checking the specs for materials and motor quality will help you find a bed built for longevity.

Think Beyond the Basics with Extra Features

While adjustability is the main draw, many modern adjustable beds come with extra features that enhance the overall sleep experience. Some models offer massage functions, which use gentle vibrations to help you relax and improve circulation. Others include under-bed lighting, which provides soft illumination at night without disturbing your partner.

If you want even more customization, accessories like side rails, leg extenders, and smart features such as voice activation can add convenience and functionality.

Make Sure Your Mattress is Compatible

Not every mattress works well with an adjustable base, so it’s important to check compatibility before making a purchase. If you already own a mattress, look at the manufacturer’s guidelines to see if it can flex and move with the base.

Memory foam, latex, and hybrid mattresses tend to work best because they are flexible enough to adjust without losing support. If your mattress is too thick or rigid, it may not allow for smooth adjustments, so this is something to keep in mind if you’re not planning to replace your mattress along with your bed.

Look for a Strong Warranty and Customer Support

Since an adjustable bed is a long-term purchase, it’s important to choose one that comes with a solid warranty. A good warranty should cover the frame, motor, and electronic components, giving you peace of mind in case of any issues.

Reliable customer support is also something to consider. If you ever have questions or need assistance, you want a company that stands behind its products and is easy to reach.

Find the Adjustable Bed That’s Right for You

Choosing an adjustable bed isn’t just about finding a model that looks good—it’s about making sure it meets your comfort, support, and lifestyle needs. Whether you need better spinal alignment, improved circulation, or just a more relaxing way to lounge in bed, the right adjustable bed can make all the difference.

If you’re ready to take your sleep to the next level, explore our adjustable bed options and find the perfect fit for your home.

Sleep Health 101– The Importance of Sleep

Sleep, great sleep, is one of the best things we can do for our minds and bodies. That said, even though we understand the importance of sleep, actually achieving it isn’t always easy for everyone. In fact, if you’re an adult human, you’ve more than likely had at least the occasional night of tossing and turning while sleep evades you. For some folks, sleep disturbance is minor and rare, but for others it can be quite life altering. That said, learning about the basics of sleep, and some suggestions for how you might improve your sleep patterns is a good idea regardless of which end of the spectrum you’re on.

Understanding Sleep Stages

Sleep can be broken down into two main stages known as REM (Rapid Eye Movement) sleep and non-REM sleep. About 75-80% of our sleep is categorized as non-REM sleep, and is broken down into four additional stages called N1, N2, N3, and N4.

N1– This stage is characterized by very light sleep, and it typically serves as a bridge to the deeper sleep stages that should follow.

N2– Deeper than N1, this sleep stage is harder to wake from, and makes up about 40 to 50% of a night’s sleep in healthy adults.

N3 and N4– This is the sleep stage in which sleep is the deepest, and is thought to be the stage in which the body restores and rebuilds itself.

Then there is REM sleep, which is characterized by rapid eye movements and the stage in which most dreaming occurs. The heart rate and breathing become less regular, and there is also increased blood flow to the brain. Also interesting fact, our bodies go into a sort of state of relative paralysis which prevents us from trying to physically act out our dreams as they occur. We may also notice during this stage of sleep that our faces, fingers, and legs twitch from time to time, which is totally normal.

The Adult Sleep Cycle

When it comes to adults and healthy sleep, the non-REM and REM sleep stages occur in consistent cycles that are predictable and even. Sleep generally begins with non-REM sleep in which our bodies transition from wakefulness to the N1 stage outlined above. This generally takes 30 minutes or less. Then we pass through a longer period of N2 stage sleep, then into stage N3. Generally about 70 to 90 minutes into sleep is when the first REM sleep period occurs. Then for the rest of the night, REM sleep alternates between the various stages of non-REM sleep, usually in approximately 90 minute cycles.

The positive thing to take away from this is that even folks who have trouble sleeping can still get access to the most restorative stage of sleep. The deepest sleep, N3, typically occurs early in the sleep cycle, so even if you are getting less sleep than is ideal, you are still able to tap into that beneficial stage in which your body recoups.

The Importance of Sleep

Sleep Health 101– The Importance of Sleep

We all know that sleep is vital to our health, but when it comes to the importance of sleep, have we really taken time to delve into the whys? Good sleep supports our brains. Sleep boosts our ability to learn, memorize things, and make logical choices in our everyday lives. It also helps to recalibrate the emotional brain circuits which are crucial to helping us navigate and manage future social and psychological scenarios with the necessary composure.

Sleep is also critical for repairing our immune systems, which in turn helps us ward off sickness and infection. Sleep helps regulate appetite, control body weight, lowers blood pressure, and even impacts cardiovascular health.

So now that we better understand sleep cycles, REM sleep, and why this restorative act is so vital to our wellbeing, what do we do with that? Prioritize great sleep. Set a goal to sleep well and get enough sleep each night. And in the meantime, try these tips for falling asleep faster to make the most of those nighttime hours. It’s also important to invest in the best as far as bedding goes. Is it time to upgrade your sleep set up? Check out our full line of custom Flexabed adjustable beds, and start sleeping better now.
